Starting up an independant publishing company suddenly reveals lots of possibilities... Rpg material? of course, that was the point. But also... fiction, comics/graphic novels and even CCGs...
I played magic back in the day, loved the strategy that was involved, but hated the difficulty involved in getting rare cards, spending WAY TOO much money on getting them, etc. Recently I bought Pimp the Backhanding, an "all in one set" ccg. The game is fun and halarious to play, but the strategy is lacking.
I thought it would be interesting to someday put out a CCG in which you bought each set as a whole and then build decks from the set and expansions, but there would be no rare cards or small extra sets or collecting bullshit. Sure, perhaps the money market for a large ccg like magic is better, but im not doing this for the money.
Recently I have had a couple of friends talk about CCGs... maybe it will soon be time to put one together. After Ngenesis hits the printers, I will be working on Eden Falls... I could see a wicked CCG evolve from Eden Falls... |
